We, unfortunately, will not be getting Aion when it comes out. Not only do I lack the money for the two copies; but the game didn't impress us enough to spend the money we don't have on it.

Kind of odd, as I haven't heard a negative thing about it from you and D. Glad you aren't leaving us though :D

Less than two hours to head start.

I'm at work trying desperately to be sent home.

I liked the game a lot, I just don't like the game enough to spend $50 on it.

Especially when the car just died and we still need to move out.

So im a lvl 20 sorc and enjoying it. The stigmas are interesting.

One thing i havent experienced yet if there is actual instancing like wow dungeons.

I found campaign quest towards grouping to be not much different than wow other than the 6 man groups. And can be even more bothersome when there are multiple groups farming mobs/items. Even "bosses". There are "channels" which is like an instance in WoW. But you can only switch channels every so often. And lets say you changed channels to hunt down x objective or kill a specific mob that other groups are farming, you can be at a loss if there is another group already there.

for example, at the end campaign chain (lvl10-20), there is a gate to be destroyed / a mob to kill and its a mild nussance if there are more groups than channels going after that mob. and certain mod respawns are more than 5 mins or more.

other than that, i really like the idea of stigmas. Its like a talent tree gained abilities like seal of command, chaos bolt, devestate, tree form, etc etc.

Each class has thier own respective stigmas and advance ones, (not sure how that works yet). for my sorc, i have a stigma that reduces my MP/mana cost of spells for 15 seconds on a 30 second CD. which is epic for a class that drains mana very easily.

the downside is that you have to spend a currency (inaddition to the stigma/glyph) to "socket" them into your stigma panel (think gylphs), which atm i have no idea how to get more. You do start off with 300 after a quest, and you have to go to a special NPC to fit you out with the stigma and spend an amount of this currency.
If Everything is "epic", then nothing is EPIC.

Wow, at least thats a good reason to PVP in the abyss. Those skills can be pretty damn epic.

Like the first stigma the Sorc gets is a "frost Nova" which we know it as light aoe with CC capability duration as long as the Mage-archtypes (avail for both sorc and SM) Single target immobilizing spell.
